What patients are eligible?
Patients 18 years of age and older with risk factors for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnoea, based on clinical screening tools, and supported by a GP referral. Those we meet medicare criteria.
Who reports and diagnoses the patient?
Reports are prepared by specialist Sleep Respiratory Physicians. GPs maintain the primary care relationship and continue patient management. Our expert Sleep Clinician facilitate the process of sleep studies and therapy, including machine sales, advice and support to your patients.
Is there a cost to the practice?
No. There are no setup or licensing fees, no service charges to the practice, or administrative costs to your clinic.
Will it add work for our GPs?
No. We handle all patient facilitation with respect to sleep studies, therapy, specialist reporting, and follow-up. Your role remains the integral primary healthcare profession referring appropriate patients for Sleep health.
What are the medicare criteria?
- Reports are prepared by specialist Sleep Respiratory Physicians;
- Clinical Moderate to High-Risk Assessment — Based on Screening Questionnaires;
- Patient has a valid medicare card;
- Patient must be 18 years of age and above;
- Patient must not have had another Medicare-funded diagnostic sleep study in the last 12 months.
